Hammer fuels the team. We train at 7,700 feet in Gunnison, where a long run costs more than it does at sea level and a bad fueling call turns up in the last two miles — so what goes in the bottle is not a small decision here.
What sold us is what they leave out: no added sugar, no artificial colors or flavors, complex carbohydrates instead of the fast sugar most of the category runs on. It sits well at hour four, which is the only test that matters on a long run or the back half of a marathon.
Coaches and athletes here were fueling on Hammer long before there was a partnership, which is the only reason we were comfortable making it one. Brian Frank started the company in 1987, and it has stayed on the same narrow problem since: what a body can absorb while it’s working. We’ll be racing on it, and saying what we actually find.
The link on this page is our referral. It takes 15% off a first order, and the credit goes back into what the team races on. We would point you at Hammer either way — this just means it costs you less on the way there.
